Tips for Life & Legal Basket:

As you create (and update) life’s important documents, add an Egg to keep track…

  • Life Insurance
  • Will
  • Trust
  • Professional Contacts
  • Formal Estate Docs
  • Tax Records
  • Any Other Official Legal (or Important) Information / Docs

Make sure there are Info Cards (under MORE INFO) and Files to store digital copies, account access, professional service contact info…

NOTE – this is the basket where you’d put archived legal docs that you might want to reference at some point – marriage cert, birth cert, passport files, citizenship papers, social security, tax records, etc. We recommend that you create an info card for each of these items wherein you actually attach your documents and BE SPECIFIC with the name of that info card so that you can search it in the future.

As always – you do not have to keep actual documents attached to things here for this to be useful. You can indicate to your loved ones (hints) where you keep a physical copy.

Tips for Reconciling:

We are so sorry for your loss. We recommend that you, first and foremost, contact an expert for assistance. If a trustee or lawyer or any other person is listed, we suggest starting there.

Once you feel like it’s safe to proceed, then go through the eggs in this basket and, if applicable, follow instructions that are in this basket, including all Notes, Eggs, Info Cards, and any attachments they may have.

Finally – we encourage you to print out all the information in your loved one’s eggs, as well as download all attached files, since their account will only be online for a few months.
